Georg Breuer
Georg Breuer, to whom the company owes its current name, continued to expand exports and estates, his sons Heinrich and Bernhard Breuer and then Bernhard's daughter Theresa finally expanded the vineyards to 38 hectares in the best Rüdesheimer, Rauenthaler and Lorcher locations. From the early 1980s onwards, thanks to the vision and work of Bernhard Breuer, the winery was able to gain international recognition. Today it is managed by Theresa Breuer and the long-standing operations manager Hermann Schmoranz, supported by cellar master Markus Lundén.
The winery cultivate 38 hectares of vineyards in Rüdesheim (25ha), Rauenthal (7ha) and Lorch (6ha) in the Rheingau, including 62% steep slopes. Grape varieties: 85% Riesling, 10% Pinot Noir, 3% Pinot Gris, 2% Pinot Blanc, Orléans and Heunisch. The top locations in Rüdesheim: Berg Schlossberg (artist label since 1980), Berg Rottland, Berg Roseneck, in Rauenthal: Nonnenberg (sole ownership / monopoly) and in Lorch (Pfaffenwies).

(..) We drink every wine that bears our name with pleasure. It corresponds to our own quality standards. We can identify with every product.
All of our wines are powerful and elegant. This goes well with the food, gives the wines a long life and corresponds to our quality standard.
We pay attention to the greatest possible ripeness of the grapes and select the grapes during harvest. Healthy berries are essential for taste and fruit. It follows that fruit aromas, balance and body in the wine are more important than the prescribed must weights and that the internal density is more important than the amount harvested. We only use traditional artisanal methods for wine-growing and we pay attention to harmony with nature. We believe that our wines are part of cultural life and therefore have a right to elegant, artistic packaging.
The aesthetic, artistic influence corresponds to our feeling for the wine.
Aware of the obligation to long-term protection of nature, we have embarked on the path to near-natural sustainable viticulture. Low yields, the softening of the monoculture and seasonal greening are prerequisites for this; the strengthening of the vine and the preservation of the soil life are in the foreground. (..) On the palate, the Auslese presents itself with a fresh sweetness that is nicely balanced by the lively acid structure. The yields are 35 hl/ha.
