2024 Rüdesheim BERG ROTTLAND Riesling | Magnum
After eleven months of aging in old oak barrels and half-barrels, the wine reveals subtle sweet notes that evolve into nutty aromas. The fruit is reminiscent of peach and apricot. There are also delicate, ethereal hints of mandarin peel or orange zest. A firm acidity and a long, mineral finish complete the picture. This is a wine that can develop for many years.
The steep, south-facing Berg Rottland vineyard is located on the western edge of Rüdesheim. The soils here consist of gray-blue clay slate with a humus-rich topsoil, loess, and weathered slate gravel. The warmer microclimate, influenced by the Rhine, allows the grapes to ripen early.
