Vineyard

The Grainhübel, located on the outskirts of Deidesheim in the direction of Forst, is one of the best vineyards in Deidesheim. The exposure of the location to the south leads to optimal solar radiation and thus almost always to an early and high ripening of the grapes. The Grainhübel lies at a height of 117 to 150 m above sea level. The soil is characterized by loamy sand to loam, in places you can also find marly clay. It is one of the typical red sandstone weathered soils of the Rhine valley depression. The old Middle High German name "grien", which stood for soils of this kind, is the origin of the site name. Grainhübel GG is a southern slope with red sandstone and tertiary limestone in the soil. Spontaneously fermented in 500l oak barrels and matured on the yeast for 1.5 years. An opulent but fine Riesling with great density, length and juicy fruit.
