The winery manages over 30 hectares, the vineyards are classified exclusively as VDP.GROSSE LAGE®. The entire winery property in the VDP.GROSSE LAGE® HERMANNSBERG in Niederhausen is a monopoly.

Riesling is the ambassador of these vineyards, Riesling is the perfect instrument for this. Only a few grape varieties in the world can bring this ambassador function into the glass as multifaceted as he does. This is also the credo of cellar master Karsten Peters: “It is particularly important to us to lead the vineyards to the point where they are able to perfectly express their very own character with a lot of respect and empathy.

In fact, the wines from Gut Hermannsberg are complex Rieslings, which often require a certain degree of aging in the bottle in order to exploit their full potential and ultimately depict a terroir taste experience. Always a challenge for me as a sommelier. But anyone can have a dry residual sweetness.
