Vineyard

The VDP.GROSSE LAGE® BADSTUBE is extraordinarily diverse for the Moselle. In addition to the blue slate typical of Bernkastel with clay components, the vineyards also contain clay - the consistency varies from stony to fine-grained. The GL BADSTUBE stretches along the middle slope along the Moselle and looks down on the Kues on the other side of the Moselle, which belongs to Bernkastel. The vineyard is up to 65 percent steep and in the south-south-west and south-west direction. Some of the vines are over 70 years old (planted around 1950) and many of them are grown individually. They grow between 110 and 250 meters above sea level. History: The name Badstube probably comes from the Middle Ages - there could have been hot springs here that were used for recreation.
