Vineyard

The VDP.Erste Lage Gimmeldinger Biengarten stretches over steep terraces and beautiful slopes along the Haardt Mountains between Gimmeldingen and Königsbach. It is well protected from cold winds by a slight hollow and is still used today by beekeepers, who were able to release their bees here earlier than otherwise possible in spring. This vineyard also learned in the Kgl. Bay. Soil evaluation from 1828 a top evaluation in Gimmeldingen.

The soil is characterized by red sandstone rubble and heavy deposits of loess clay with a high iron content. As is typical for Gimmeldingen, the microclimate is characterized by the strong nocturnal influx of cold air from the Palatinate Forest. The resulting strong day-night differences lead to a cool, exciting aroma and fine minerality for all red sandstone fruit. The wines have a filigree, fruity aroma with a lot of spice and elegance.
