wine description

2016 XIV Triumvirat - Grande Cuvee Brut | Raumland

VDP.SEKT: 2016 XIV Triumvirat - Grande Cuvee Brut | Raumland

The 2016 XVI Triumvirat presents itself as a unique interpretation of a magnificent vintage. This Grande Cuvée symbolizes our uncompromising passion, our craftsmanship, and our confidence in the potential of the finest base wines of a vintage. This Triumvirat is profound and precise: On the nose, aromas of ripe Mirabelle plum, candied lemon, and white peach meld with delicate toasty notes, hazelnut, and a hint of salted caramel. Over 100 months of lees aging impart a creamy texture, fine bubbles, and an intriguing spiciness with notes of brioche. On the palate, the cuvée is powerful—yet always elegant and vibrantly fresh. A complex sparkling wine with a clear origin from the chalky soils of the Dalsheimer Bürgel vineyard.

2016 was not an easy year, but one that delighted with characterful and clearly defined base wines. The conditions in autumn compensated for the rigors of spring – with a result that leaves little to be desired in terms of class and elegance. For us, a vintage with character, distinctive features, and great promise for the future.
