wine description

2015 Blanc de Blancs - Réserve | extra brut | Raumland

The exceptional 2015 vintage allowed Raumland to fully express the intensity and spice of the grapes. The fine texture of the 2015 cuvées results in harmonious and particularly approachable sparkling wines. This year's Blanc de Blancs is made from 100% Pinot Blanc, predominantly from our parcels in the Dalsheimer Bürgel vineyard. A small portion was aged in oak barrels. The result is a velvety and elegant sparkling wine that is nonetheless very complex and stimulating on the palate, with an exceptionally long finish. The Blanc de Blancs displays aromas of quince, grapefruit, and nectarine, complemented by nutty notes.

The year began early in the vineyard with a mild spring, followed by a dry and hot summer. Minimal leaf removal was carried out to preserve the finesse of the vintage. Then, in September, came the long-awaited rain and falling temperatures, which kept the acidity levels in the grapes stable. This resulted in a textbook early harvest, and the vintage yielded more robust and spicy sparkling wines compared to 2014.
