The wine shows the perfect interplay between maturity and minerality. Fruit and acidity as well as density and elegance. The scent is typical of the location due to the soil with its distinctive mineral aromas of smoke. Pepper. Flint. Hay. Characterized by tea and herbs. on the other hand, citrus comes from the Riesling grape variety. Apple. Peach and apricot flavors. This double game is also repeated on the palate.

VDP.GROSSE LAGE®: 2023 Oestrich DOOSBERG Riesling Grosses Gewächs | dry
The most valuable part of the Doosberg is on the eastern outskirts of Oestrich, at 120 m above sea level with a moderately steep slope of 15% and southern exposure. The soil is made up of calcareous loess clay over terrace sediments and rock from the Alzey Formation (marine sand), which is crossed by strong Taunus quartz. It is a fairly exposed hilltop with constant wind, and therefore offers good conditions for healthy growth of the vines and good ripening of the grapes.
