2022 Forst Riesling Village
From the readings of the PC and GC vineyards in Ruppertsberg, as well as from young plots of these sites. Mostly grapes from the GAISBÖHL and HOHEBURG sites contribute to this village wine.
This vintage is something very special again. The very mild spring ended in a warm and dry summer. It was soon apparent that the Rieslings were likely to start harvesting at the beginning of September. We were therefore able to prepare the vineyards early, which was an invaluable advantage with the onset of precipitation at the beginning of September. So we were able to get all G.C. and P.C. to bring Rieslings into the cellar. The reward was perfectly ripe, very healthy grapes, which, despite the warm summer, gave us a brilliant acidity, little alcohol and a very impress with expressive minerality. The wines of a warm vintage, but which combine many of the attributes of a cool vintage.
The VINTAGE: Selective hand-picking at the end of September 2022. A yield of 50-55hl/ha was harvested from the sites for the Forst Riesling
