wine description

2018 Pinot Noir Ölberg | Magnum

Ölberg Pinot Noir grows on the outskirts of Königsbach in a protected position with sandstone and lime in the ground.

The wine is ethereal, fine and elegant on the nose, with aromas of sour cherry, plum and rosemary. On the palate it is intense and noble, with a lot of meat and body, yet it is juicy, fine. In terms of depth and complexity, it is a serious rival, even for Grand Crus.

The balanced, fresh acidity contributes to a long finish of plum, almond, blackberry with rosemary and blackcurrant. With its fine, but expansive tannins and the piquant, juicy acidity, it is rather not for lovers of exclusively tender Pinot Noir. But those who also love dense, beguiling and full-bodied Gevrey and Vosne can be carried away by the Mount of Olives! Great storage potential - with this wine you can go on a journey of discovery over several years.
