MaxFerd. Richter
Great wines are made in the vineyard, not in the cellar. According to this maxim, viticulture and viticulture are carried out in the winery. Hand-picking on the steep slopes, low yields, the use of natural fertilizers and the avoidance of herbicides and insecticides stand for natural vineyard care. The main focus of the work in the cellar is both on maintaining the quality obtained in the vineyard and on the concept of terroir.
A special Riesling style is created through the use of the natural yeast flora of the musts and the temperature-controlled aging in the traditional “Mosel Fuder” from oak barrels. The approximately 20 hectares of vineyards are mostly on the steep slopes between Erden and Brauneberg on the banks of the Moselle and are planted with 95% Riesling and 5% Pinot Blanc.
