wine description

2011 MonRose - Grande Cuvée Réserve | extra brut | Raumland

We cuvée our MonRose Grande Cuvée only in special vintages. A classic blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Meunier. The three grape varieties complement each other almost perfectly in terms of aroma, structure and acidity, resulting in a complex yet harmonious sparkling wine. On the nose, this Grande Cuvée shows fresh brioche, cedar wood, aromas of juicy oranges and white flowers. On the palate, notes of apricot and red currant are presented in a powerful and long-lasting manner. Due to the partial aging of the basic wine in wooden barrels, the sparkling wine shows spicy notes that give it structure. The mousseux is fine and underlines the elegance of the sparkling wine. This sparkling wine has a long aftertaste and finish. Our whole heart and soul flows into this cuvée. (Source: Raumland)

2011: Early budding in April | early summer temperatures from April to June with little precipitation | moderately warm and humid summer, which noticeably delayed ripening | A fantastic Indian summer followed To this day people still speak of a “meteorically” good wine year.
