August Kesseler
Based in Assmannshausen, by the way UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley, August Kesseler runs his winery with 23 hectares of vineyards in the beautiful Rheingau. Where the Rhine flows its water from east to west and north again, we find the famous Assmannshäuser Höllenberg and Lorcher Schlossberg vineyards. My focus was always on the Pinot Noir wines, but what wonderful Rieslings August brings to the bottle. Fine fruit aromas and then this lining full of mouth on the palate. Always worth a temptation.
In 1977 August Kesseler took over the winery from his parents. In the course of time, stays abroad in the USA, France and Italy followed. In the mid-1990s, August Kesseler became Managing Director at Reinhartshausen Castle until he focused entirely on his winery at the beginning of the millennium. Experiences, insights, the encounter and cooperation with valuable people from the past decades shape the philosophy and style of the company today.
