Jakob Schneider

The winery was founded in 1575 and has been family-owned ever since. The Schneider family cultivates around 18 hectares of vineyards with around 85% Riesling, 10% Burgundy and 5% other varieties such as Dornfelder. The average yield is in the moderate middle range at 60 hectoliters per year.

When I visited the winery two years ago, the Rieslings, whether dry or fruity, were convincing with their finesse and substance. The Schneider Spontis always ensure a cozy, creamy mouthfeel. The Schneider family has an interesting portfolio of top individual vineyards in the Nahe growing region such as Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle, Dellchen, Felsensteyer, Kertz and Klamm.
