The Riesling planted steep bank of the VDP.GROSSE LAGE® FEILS rises steeply from the river on a peninsula at the junction of the Saar and Saar Canal with a 73 percent gradient. The Feils is one of the warmest locations in the Saar Valley due to its proximity to the water. The microclimate is characterized by high solar intensity - the Saar stores the heat and reflects the bright rays of the sun. In addition, the river also has a temperate climate. The soils consist of a scree mixture of river sediment with sand and gravel. The GL FEILS covers 4.4 hectares.
