The VDP Weingut A. Christmann has been running the winemaking trade in the tranquil Gimmeldingen in the Palatinate Mittelhaardt since the 16th century. The current generation with Steffen Christmann and cellar master Martin Eller have brought the dry Palatinate Rieslings back to the top of international wine culture. The flagship of the collection is again and again the VDP.Grosse Gewächs IDIG from the vineyard of the same name at the gates of Gimmeldingen. The philosophy of the winery also shapes the wine style and shows that there is always a master plan here. Steffen Christmann and his team want to produce authentic, artisanal wines. That means: the family is directly involved in every step of the winemaking process. The mix of grape varieties is clearly characterized by Riesling with around 70%. In addition there is about 15% of the red Pinot Noir and about 10% of the Pinot Blanc. With Pinot Blanc it will show in the near future where the style journey will go. It should also be noted that the entire company is EU organic certification.
