wine description

2021 Terra Montosa Riesling | Breuer | Magnum

In order to keep the selection of the top plants as strict as possible, we have been bringing together the second-best batches of the best locations for Terra Montosa since the 1990 vintage. The name stands for the "steep earth" of the mountain locations and comes from the first mention of vineyards in the Rüdesheimer Berg in a Latin document from the year 1074. Wines from different soils combine to create a cuvée of great complexity, which makes them an ideal accompaniment to food.

The grapes come from the second best parts of our cru-steep slopes in Rüdesheim (Berg Roseneck, Berg Schlossberg and Berg Rottland) and Rauenthal (Nonnenberg), which are characterized by deep phyllite soils, loam soils and quartz slate. The name "Terra Montosa" describes the origin of the wine: from the "steep / mountainous earth".

Description:
In the bouquet yellow fruits, hay, wet stone and sweet spices. The impressive fullness on the palate contrasts with accentuated tannins and a haunting acid core. A combination of concentration and lightness.
