2021 SAUMAGEN Riesling GG
VDP.GROSSE LAGE|VDP.GROSSES GEWÄCHS: 2021 Kallstadt SAUMAGEN Riesling GROSSES GEWÄCHS | dry
Origin: One of the most traditional locations in the Palatinate. In the small basin that opens to the south and south-east, the limestone marl prevails, mixed with numerous limestones. Here you will find the best conditions: wind, warmth and nocturnal coolness in the right amount.
Vineyard work: sowing buckwheat, clover, radish to root the soil and attract beneficial insects. Incorporation of horse manure as a natural fertilizer. Manual removal of double shoots, pricking out for ventilation of the grapes. We harvest 3,000 liters / hectare.
Vinification: After handpicking, the grapes are gently pressed - sometimes as whole grapes, sometimes with a short maceration. The must ferments with natural yeasts. The wine matures on the lees for 10 months in half-length and stainless steel barrels. Late sulphurization, without fining or other aids.
