VDP.ORTSWEIN: 2020 von Bergen, Schlössern und Burgen Riesling dry | VDP.Ortswein

VDP.ORTSWEINE come from the best vineyards within a town, in this case the town of Schlossböckelheim. There, Crusius owns the large sites FELSENBERG and KUPFERGRUBE, from which both the GGs and the local wine come. The grapes from the younger vines are processed into local wine. The name was inspired by the history of the place, which is located on the mountain (slope) and where Böckelheim Castle stood, which was destroyed in the 17th century and was called a castle for a long time (hence the name of the place: Schlossböckelheim).

The wine itself shows a very animating and fresh nose, also characterized by the volcanic soil. A great mineral wine with a herbal spice that comes across as very straightforward. Slight hints of apricots can also be tasted.
